If it's a spinning reel, look on the underside of the spool. There's a small spring that engages the clicker gear for the drag, check if it's broken or popped out. It's an easy fix if that's the problem.
I got it this winter and never noticed until recently. Is it possible that some reels have a silent drag? I'm not really that knowledgeable on fishing gear yet.
If your drag works both full on and backed off then it's fine... Never seen a bait caster with a clicker, usually reserved for line counters and dedicated trolling reels
I feel kind of dumb now lol. I recently been collecting reels so I decided to test my reels and did some research. Apparently several of the bait casters do have silent drags. I was always used to clicking drags so I panicked a little.
yes i have a corsair shimano cs-401 with a clicker. the shimano reels that have a clicker is on the oppisit side of the handle on the drum. slides up and down.
and back to your question to where to fix reels i use to send my stuff to j-cees rod and reel in selkirk manitoba but not certain if he operates any more for it has been 5 to 7 years that i sent anything.
