I have a auger with a crack in the gas tank it's about 2" long. I can't find a new tank ( discontinued ) and was wondering what the best way to fix it would be? Thanks in advance!

Yes JB weld for sure. I have fixed 3 tanks with JB weld. One tank had the spout at the bottom where the gas hose goes in the tank broken of. Fixed it with JB weld. One of em is a good ten years ago n it's good. I applied a good inch wide strip so that it has a lot of surface to bond to.
Go to tyndall power products he has a pile of old tanks, bring your auger and you should be able to find something thats close, get some strapping, some rubber to cover contact points and also get new fuel lines while your at it

I've tried SealAll before, doesn't work very well IMO. I'd look hard for a used tank, second would be JB weld, but scuff up the crack really well and clean with soap and water after.
