Is this a fishing forum?

I take it none of the ignorant members who think the pandemic is a scam, have a family member working front lines or have know someone on who has been on deaths bed with covid.

If you refuse to got the shot, don't come to the hospital when you are sick. I wish the nurses and doctors could refuse people stupid enough to believe the pandemic is a scam or fake. But don't sorry, my wife will still treat your sickness and stupidity.

Back to the show.....is it strictly ice fishing vendors and merchandise or is there summer fishing items to be seen and had?

BDR - I like the way you think!
I am a former exhibitor at the ice show; we had a booth for our lodge. It was great to see everyone out and about getting the vibe and chatting ice fishing for the upcoming season! There were quite a few vendors there at the first show, and some good deals to be had. I am not sure what the gig is this year with vendors - regardless tho, it is good to go and support the show - more support means better future shows

Sadly, my other profession is a 'front liner' - and I have been mandated to go work in a hotspot for the next few weeks - looking after the un-vaccinated in an ICU. Prob hold their hand as they die, on top of my other duties. Fun Fun.

Anyhow,
Enjoy the show people - Support it!

I have the same opinion now on the Scamdemic as when all the Covid shit hit the fan almost two years ago!!!Living in fear of catching a virus with a 99.5 99-7 percentage of survival shouldn’t scare any one but we are now socially conditioned sheep terrified to live a normal life!! Losing our hard earned rights, medical treatment ‘Passports’ freedom to associate is NOT for me. Jabbing our young children should be fought tooth and nail.So weather I am or not jabbed shouldn’t be of concern to anyone. It the second class citizenship being created right in front our eyes that we should ALL be fighting now!!!
You’ve inhaled and digested so much non-medical pain killers and mind altering things over the years! All of them created and packaged in someone’s attic, basement, garage or out in the backwoods and your afraid of the vaccine?!?! 😂😅😂😅

Andy you’ve got to be kidding or the radioactive water of PDB has taken its toll. My condolences sir.

Actual death rate from Covid in Canada is 1.69% as of Oct 22/21 so you got your facts incorrect.https://health-infobase.canada.ca/covid-19/epidemiological-summary-covid-19-cases.html Works out to a 98.31% survival of which many survivors will have long-term negative health effects. Anyway those who care enough about others around us who got a safe vaccine will be able to attend the show. Hopefully as good or better than past shows.

And these numbers don't account for people who have died because surgeries were postponed, or couldn't find a hospital/ ICU bed because they were all filled with covid patients. When the healthcare system collapses, we all lose (sheep or not).

I read that this year Frostbite will have a booth. I'd be interested in seeing their rods in person as I've heard good things about them. It can't compare to the big state-side events, but we have to start somewhere.

For those who don't have social media, here's more information on the event:

Less than two weeks out from the 3rd Winnipeg Ice Fishing Show! We are still far from normal in the angling industry, but it's fantastic news that we are able to stage an event for 2021.

This year's 'Ice Fishing Academy' edition of the show features an entire roster of hardwater specialists from Central Canada and beyond. They are determined to help you become a better ice angler. Take in seminars on the Eskimo Ice Fishing Gear Main Stage, sit in on workshops at one of two HuntFishMB Manitoba seminar rooms, or chat up one of the many knowledgeable ice-heads working the 35+ booths on the show floor.

In between upgrading your skills, compare notes and swap fish tales at the Ice Fishing Manitoba Beer Garden or at the Concession Stand. The younger anglers will keep busy with the Rapala Scavenger Hunt and Haulin Axe for kids (there will be real axe-throwing too). Stock up on tackle at Harvester Outdoors, Frostbite, Walleye Mafia, Pelican Lures, TightlinesUV, and Smoke N Fish.

Tickets sold at the door. Every paid entry will be eligible to enter our always awesome Prize Draws which includes a chance to win a StrikeMaster Ice Suit or an Eskimo Pop-up Shelter!

Come on out on November 6 and 7 and get a head start on the ice season!

Ugh sorry Chris thought you were Craig with AEM. Tired, foggy brain. Just getting over a wicked sinus & left lung infection.
@manitoba_hunter , AEM will not have a booth at the Ice Fishing Show this year. Tough decision, but decided that we need to focusing on data processing and getting the new maps ready for release. I hope the show is great though....and that I have a bit of time that weekend to sneak over with my kids to browse!

Regarding new maps....2021 turned out to be an amazing year for us in terms of surveying. I haven't crunched the numbers but I am pretty sure we will be adding more content to the Still tons of data to process over the winter prior to our full 2022 release in spring, but 2022: Early Ice (late November/early December ETA) chips should see the the following additions:

Clearwater Lake, East (i.e. we are now finished the entire lake)
Hecla/Grindstone 2022

Not sure what happened to my post but I meant to say....I am pretty sure we will be adding more content for 2022 than we ever have before in a calendar year.

I was thinking of going this year but I've already spent enough money on new ice gear for this upcoming season. I also don't really like large crowds or wearing a mask for that long either as I can hardly get through my grocery shopping doing so.

Having gone to it, I think it was pretty decent. The turnout was pretty high. I will say that the number and quality of vendors was less than last year overall aside from Frostbite. Seminars were pretty informative. Hopefully the show grows and we get more vendors.

Yeah it was pretty packed when I was there. Maybe a little better placement of vendors would have worked. The Pelican Lures, Big Sky Flies side of things was jam packed crowded but the other side of the venue had far less traffic.
