Looking for small lakes to fish in north of Minnidosa and south of Riding Mountain.

Google Earth shows a lot of little lakes are they accessible without too long a portage?

which lakes would be good to try and what’s in them?

thanks all!

Go to this site and look for lakes that have been stocked especially for many recent years . Many will have perch and N pike and a few will have walleyes. Lots of the smaller lakes are too shallow to overwinter fish but there are also quite a number where fish can survive. Access can be a challenge if there is not a road along side= if not there would private land to gain permission to cross.

Try Sandy Lake, pretty much in the area you're looking for. Walleye, Perch and Jacks are the species to be found. There was some stocking done a few years ago, however I haven't fished the lake for about ten years. Its easily accessible.
