Just looking at the Panoptix system and came across a new ducer (https://buy.garmin.com/en-CA/CA/p/636902) that works directly with the new Garmin units (no black box required). The cost of the transducer is a fraction of what the current system is going for.

Am I missing something or can you now get a new panoptix system + fishfinder for under $3000?

Ducer: https://www.gpscentral.ca/accessories/panoptix-livescope-lvs12.html

EchoMap: https://www.gpscentral.ca/products/garmin/echoMAP-ultra-102sv.html

If this is true, then IMO, the price of the current livescope system should be half what it is today. Why would you pay $2000 for a transducer, blackbox and at least another $1000 for a compatible fish finder when you can get the top of the line for the same price?

panoptix

I just picked up the Panoptix ice bundle and head unit, I went just regular panoptix and not livescope. Difference in price was $1,000, yes more detail with livescope, but my panoptix is super cool. That inexpensive transducer only gives you a small sample of the full price unit. Have heard a new transducer that will give you full coverage and no box, but will require upgraded head unit.
