I'm not sure what the rules in ON are, but here is the message I received when purchasing the license:


"Thank you for your recent activity on Ontario’s Fish and Wildlife Licencing Service.
For your convenience attached is your licence summary and receipt (if you made a purchase). The licence summary can be printed anytime or can be saved for use on your mobile device. If you have any questions, contact the Natural Resources Information and Support Centre at 1-800-387-7011."


I think you still have to produce it as a printed copy or on your phone. The gas station in ON printed it out for me and said that I needed to keep a copy with me.

I don't know how many people keep big fish or even carry a pen on them with the intention of signing the back of the license. Will be interesting to see how they implement the signing after the licenses go digital.
