Only other "barbless" fishery I have come across in my travels is the West Coast sport salmon fishery. If barbed fishing tackle caused such catostrophic mortality I'm sure then most North American sport fisheries would have moved away from this. Frankly myself, I feel the barbless legislation to be a joke...especially when my friend next to me can retain 50 pounds, used barbed tackele and as many lines as he chooses to fish... I'm almost positive as well that digital cameras harm more fish than barbs.
