jason7mm well, any engine that doesn't exist anymore isn't exactly a good thing. i sold my 1979 merc because all the parts were NLA... it could still be running today, or it may be an anchor. hopefully you don't have to worry.

i will suggest to use premium fuel and good quality oil. that will go a long way for runability

Actually, there is a sticker on the back of mine that says US marine haha.

You saying they suck? haha shoot. Well I'm hoping it doesn't have issues and if it does I'm hoping the mechanic I got it from will have the spare parts in his Force parts motor.

...This may have been a bad purchase.

Dubbies haha I need a new prop and telling them about it over the phone has them scratching their heads. They all know about it but can't look anything up in their database about it :P

5/6 told me just to bring it in. So I drove out to the country to my sister's place to take it off and bring it in. Annoying. Should have bought a different brand name for convenience alone!

abousetta Yes, a lot of the parts are now Merc parts for their older motors. Marineengine.com has a breakdown of a lot of these motors and you can use the official numbers associated with them for tracking them down elsewhere.
