Really weird that my pin configuration is different than yours. Looks like mine came with an extra pin... and a broken one.
That is strange, no doubt!

BIGGAMEFISHER Here is what the transducer should look like as well as the pin configuration.

If it's a 788ci DI HD (as you pictured), the transducer with the 5 pins is the incorrect transducer for that unit.......the plug for the correct transducer (XNT 9 DI T) for that unit should have 4 pins not 5, unfortunately the 4 pin configuration in that plug in the picture has one of the necessary pins broken off. Can you post a picture of the transducer that was sold to you with the unit?

yeuker Worst case is I'll use my old Garman. No GPS but at least the locator works.

BIGGAMEFISHER Unfortunately those cannot be properly repaired and a new transducer would be the only answer. I have heard of folks splicing another end onto the cable but the signal is never the same, seems once you compromise the shielding interference becomes an issue. Surface clutter settings only eliminated the clutter/noise that is being displayed on the sonar return shown on the head unit, it has nothing to do with the unit reading proper depth. What model 788 is it, DI or just standard 2d sonar? I have a DI transducer here, brand new, that might help you out!
