Actually, yes I did get your message. I too am having difficulty with their PM set up. Thanks for the information. I will have to try the between holes strategy. It would explain why I have not been marking much lately. Catching, though is another problem! I believe in the barometric pressure as well but just as a guideline. I have noticed that the fishing has slowed down to next to nothing over the last week and a half or so. I think that this is a seasonal thing when the ice gets around 2 feet thick. It will get better soon, it always does and then deadsticking will start producing more. That's my two cents.

Looks like a good spot too. I fish about 1/2 way between where u are and that spot. You have easy access there too. I'm finding that if you get in between two of the deeper holes(more to the middle of the river) I mark more fish, rather than on the side of the contour lines. Maby the fish come around the deep hole from both sides. Try to get between two deep spots. I've been marking lots but catching them is a different story. But I'm a strong believer in the barometric pressure. It has to stabilize for 3 or 4 days, then a day before a pressure change, fishing is hot. If it's steady fishing is OK. But lately the barometer rises and falls and rises again throughout the day. Fishing is slow. A high pressure system is moving in this week, the next good day will be the day before the clouds roll in. I'll be out on Monday if school isn't cancelled from the cold. Kids r done Christmas break. YES!! Time for fishin!!

    Hello RedRiverRick,

    Lance (lirwin4) here,

I was wondering if you would be able to give my some advice. Growing very discouraged lately with the slow fishing and especially the lack of activity on my screen when others are showing lots, I am thinks about trying out a new spot. I cross referenced my Navionics map that shows detailed depths and contour lines with Google Maps and came up with a location that looks interesting to me. It is about 2.2 Km North of my current spot (approx 900 M South of Goldeye Creek) and is indicated on the attached link by a star. According to the Navionics map, there is a deeper hole at this location that extends down the center of the channel. There are also some pretty tight contour lines (drop offs) towards the East shore and there looks like an access trail from the road very close by. As you are more familiar with this area, can I please ask your opinion of this spot?https://goo.gl/maps/NIDXN
