There is a little rock shelf where the water runs over and makes a small falls. Right where the path from the parking lot meets water. That corner is where it is easiest to scoop them if they are there. I'm pretty sure I got the formaldehyde at the drugstore. I may have had to ask for it from behind counter. I think it comes in 500ml or 750 ml plastic bottle. I've used it about 3-4 times and still have enough for this spring. Store it somewhere that no-one else can get at it, especially kids and animals. I hide mine way up in a hard to reach corner of the shed. I like to rinse the dead minnows and the pail out and drain the pail into our holding tank. The minnows get a bit rubbery if left in formaldehyde too long, but they make great bait for fishing in the Whiteshell as they are one of the most common species there.
