My other nephew lived in onanole and knew alot of the people who worked up there, the park tags fish , he caught a 43 inch pike that had a tag in it. If you catch one and fillet it and find the tag they ask if you turn it in. I heard pike and trout were tagged , not sure about walleye and white fish.
It 100 % does , I don't think anybody really fishes for them. Pretty hard to get down to the deep depths without lead weights. I was fishing there 2 years ago and there were schools of what we figured was trout, i put on me deepest diving crank and let out. something took it and bent over a 7'6 foot medium heavy rod, i reeled it in about 30 feet and it was gone. I also know somebody who years and years ago was on a diving platform behind a boat, he said there were fish in that lake bigger then he was , he is 6' tall , he was in deep bay. there is also pike in there close to the 50 inches, a 48 was pulled out of there a couple years ago to, it was my nephews friend.
I just put two downriggers on the boat so thats what ill be using. I have one 10 lb cast iron ball , so im good, just need to get another one
