Default New License Idea

So I'm heading down to Florida for about 10 days and was looking into buying a license. I saw something that I really think Manitoba should get. In Florida they have a lifetime membership for $300. No on likes having to go buy a new license every year for $25. For someone like me who is 24 in 12 years I'll pay $300 and I'll be fishing much longer than that. What is everyone thoughts if Manitoba got a Lifetime License?

I think it would be a great idea. Thing is I don't see it happening here in my lifetime. And if it does happen, it would be more then $300. Id be ok with that as well.

I agree, Lifetime Licenses would be awesome!

It would be a good start to getting away from the paper.
Make the Lifetime License available online only and that would allow them time to make you up a nice credit card style license that you would receive through the mail.

Fisheries is cash strapped as it is, don't know where they would get their revenue from if licence fees weren't added into the mix. $300 for a lifetime simply isn't enough revenue for them here.

I doubt it would be $300 here too.
We would be probably closer to the Lifetime Licenses in Minnesota:

Age 16 to 50 $508
Age 51 and older $335

Lifetime Angling and Spearing

Renewal FREE
Age 3 and younger $380
Age 4 to 15 $509
Age 16 to 50 $596
Age 51 and older $386

Lifetime Sports

Renewal FREE
Age 3 and younger $485
Age 4 to 15 $659
Age 16 to 50 $861
Age 51 and older $560

I honestly wish we could fix this. I've had a few "oh [email protected]*" moments when the CO's are closing in. Usually in a zip lock in my tackle bag. Usually. Sometimes things disappear for no reason. Let us pay four years at a time. Put a little "CL" on our drivers licences in one corner for conservation license, or "FL" for full license. No paper, it's photo Id. Can get a new one easily if it's lost. Imagine the paper saved over 4 yrs. Conservation should want to save paper, no? We have the fish futures license plate. So it's not like they can't work together.

please don't kid yourself. They could do this in a month. They could have a high school computer class set it up for Christ sakes. It's not important to them at all. It's not on the radar even.

Maybe it's time to get that harvesters card I'm entitled to and the CO can shove his/her paper.
