Lifetime 'regular' fishing licences should be 'FREE' for citizens born and lived in Manitoba all their lives that are 55+
Residents get a free conservation license at age 65+. A full license requires payment however.

Don't really care too much about cost, but I'd give anything for Manitoba to finally reach the 21st century and go online! Ridiculous have paper-only licenses that you have to buy in store...

I would like to see a One-day Sport Fishing Licence option like in Ontario.
Just so the opportunity is available to take people out who don't do much fishing, just for the day.

In my experience... and mine alone... I see most of the 'freebee' seniors are more than capable of paying for a licence. They are well off, have their gear/boats/etc. why are we giving them the price break?

Instead, why not offer a one day, or one weekend licence for cheap to hopefully encourage new fishers instead?

Seniors will fish... They will buy regular priced licences. newbies and visitors will not.

I am a MB resident, born and bred... and fish regularly in MB, Ontario, N. Dak., and Wisconsin. If MB wants to encourage tourism, they seriously need to get their heads out of their arses. imo!

I just wish we could pay online even have an app to pay through and renew each year. Have a digital copy through the app right on your phone. No more paper copies unless you actually wanted to print a hard copy.

I always have a fishing licence.
Problem is since I buy one every year I assume I've bought one, it happens sometimes that I (or a friend) haven't.

An online system is needed.

Out here in the country there's nowhere to purchase licenses locally, this needs to happen for all licenses not requiring a tag, trappers, etc. They already have it setup for spring snow geese, and the migratory bird stamp as well, so I don't understand why it isn't done yet.

Having those license printed, mailing out to retailers, and having them send back is not cheap. Give retailers/ gas stations a printer like they do everywhere else and if people want to buy they still can.

Agree with online.
I like Ontario's version. I like the variation of a day, year, multi-year options. I bought my year license in about 2 minutes. Was perfect. I would like to have an app, such as piggy backing off the Manitoba Master Anglers app or something that you could have your license available to show on your phone to conservation. Between bank cards, credit cards, boaters card, the list goes on. I am trying to declutter the wallet a bit. Don't want to resort to carrying around a Murse lol.

I like the Ontario system too. I buy the 3 year license that goes with the card. I have that, my boat license, scuba diver card, and hunter safety card all in a credit card folder in my dry box I take everywhere in the boat.
