I've been looking for a butt seat and pedestal and was finding that all the pedestals didn't go as high as I would like, so I decided to make my own, well someone else made it for me
I took two seat posts to a machine shop here in Brandon and got them to find a piece of aluminium tube with the same ID as the seat post's OD they drilled some holes in it and one through one of seat posts so I can adjust it.
Right now it adjusts from about 29"-37" to the bottom of the seat, it could be shortened by up to 3" by cutting the bottom off the outside tube, but I tried it in the boat today and the height range felt good. on a side note I think my neighbor had a good laugh when he came around the corner and caught me trying it, I didn't have a rod or anything but he still thinks I have a bit of a problem
It's not as pretty as the store bought ones, but the aluminium tube with the holes drilled was $20 and I ordered one of these seats http://www.cabelas.ca/product/46702/...ries-pro-seats
so I'm not into it for all that much
