Default Boat prices on kijiji

Somebody got fed up with some of the ridiculous prices people are asking for their used boats on kijiji and started posting sarcastic comments. Don't know if others have seen them so posting here:

For Sale Lund Fishing boat way over priced and not worth it

"Notice ads for boats in this city is to the point of stupid. Winnipegers think that any old boat is worth 5-30 thousand bucks. These people are insane and if you want a boat go buy from Alberta or US as you could get it shipped to your door for less than these crazy people. I mean really if your looking you must agree with me. If you want a pontoon boat forget it ! here would cost 8 grand for a piece of wood and a paddle. Dont support these insane people then perhaps they will lower thier prices for gods sake."

16' Lund Fishing worth going id debt for a few weekends of use

"Please over pay me for a old lousy boat and go into debt so you can try to sell it for a bigger profit in another 10 years. You could have fish delvered via a helicopter and a chef cook for you for the same price but, don't please buy my old boat. You need to go into debt or spend that tax refund now it's urgent(you think). Call me so I can tell you it's only 20 years old and worth every penny. Don't fish from shore and laugh with your friends and family anymore as being on water is way better to get gas, insurance, maintenance. Look those pontoon guys are paying $70,000 -$100,000 so my 1994 Lund is easily worth $10,000 on sale for $9500 this weekend only."

Lol. Boats used and new are always overpriced when the season is about to start. Just like snowmobiles. They have you by the nutz at this point if you really want a boat for the start of the season.

I bought my first boat (used) in January and browsing the ads lately I am happy I purchased in the off season.

You think Boats in Alberta are cheaper then Manitoba? I can't tell if you are being serious or not? A guy here bought a new Lund in Sadkatchewsn for $18000 less then what the Calgary area Lund dealer would do, literally laughed at him when he told him what the Sask dealer would sell for. If you want to buy anything new or close to new then scratch Alberta off the list. There is the odd deal on Kijiji but that's are the exception not the norm.

Boats, motorhomes and trailers are all highly overpriced in the spring. Best time to shop for those is in the fall. You can save thousands.

Of course there's always that guy who thinks his stuff is worth 10 times it's value and posts the same ad for over a year asking the same amount.

I think when referring to Alberta, they mean Northern Alberta which has suffered heavily from the downturn in the economy.

As for dealers, there's always someone who has merchandise he's willing to discount for someone outside their catchment area. Just gotta do the legwork to find the deal.
