It's a drive, but cancunflatsfishing.com is a trip I will have t do again. You will see thousands of fish in a day. Just be sure to book a guide per angler...it's an interactive sightfishing guide and angler type of fishing

We booked a fishing trip at our hotel which launched out of Puerto Morelos (between Cancun & Playa del Carmen). We split the cost with another couple and total was $700 USD.

The boat, 34' Bertran, was piloted by two local men. The actual fishing was done between the mainland and Cozumel. My wife caught an Atlantic sailfish and I caught a nice wahoo. See attached pictures.

Well we had a great time out on Isla Mujeres. We only stayed for a week and the time was well spent. The other couple that we went with had friends who are repeat customers of a charter(they only fish when on holidays). So we decided to take a booking with them. there was a crew of 3 and then the 4 of us. boat didn't seem like anything too extravagant other than they had a small toilet so the girls didn't have to use a bucket. We left nice and early and it took about 45 min to get out where he wanted to put out lines. only took about a half hour before we started hooking Bonita which was great fun. and shortly after that we had a triple header on Crevalle Jack. great fun. the girlfriend hooked onto a decent one and had a nice 30min battle. we had marlin chase bait hard and i was hooked on a dorado for a time before he broke off. all in all a great trip. the island is really nice and so are the people, we will be going back at some point. First salt water trip and definitely not my last. next time id like to do a bit more research on my own. read more reviews! this trip and the rainy river sturgeon were great ways to spend time on my 4 week leave!
