Default Fishing Charter for Playa Del Carmen

Going to Playa Del Carmen in a couple weeks. Interested in booking a fishing charter. Any advice of experience would be appreciated.

Fishing aside, you HAVE to go to Coco Bongo in Playa. Seriously...go.

Puerta Morales has some good charters.

I got recommended this guy by a close friend that goes out with him every year twice a visit: Fishing with Roberto Navarro.

When I went down in November the weather was pretty spotty (sun/rain/wind) so I didn't bother booking to go out and mostly spent time with the GF at the resort or checking out ruins.

All the above mentioned charters were booked. Ended up going deep sea fishing out of Peurto Aventuras. 32 boat was a POS. Something was wrong with the exhaust, so we got gassed for 4 hours.

The sea was so rough that the ferry terminal closer to Cozumel. We asked them if they were still going to go and of course they said yes. After we got on the boat and outside the harbor the guy quickly added we can turn around at any time. But no refund. Easy 8 swells. Water over the bow. We ended up hooking into one sailfish. But it cut off before the boat. Overall the shittiest day of fishing ever.

I know it is a little late in referrals. We were by Puerto Morelos at a resort. We booked with the Pelicanos charter. We didn't care for the big sailfish or anything, we just wanted to catch fish. They came through. November is a tough month but we caught lots of fish off the reef. Definitely will go back if in the area. They even cooked the fish we caught free of charge.
