Default Insight Genesis

Just purchased a Lowrance elite 5 HDI and i'm getting the subscription for Insight Genesis. Does anybody use it? How do you like it?
Also what size memory card do you recommend to record your trips?

I don't have Insight Genesis but I love Lowrance.

With all these Humminbird users around, us Lowrance guys gotta stick together!

Found a decent vid-- https://insightstore.navico.com/insightgenesis

I saw a few video before but not that one, thank you. I think this is going to be very interesting for me as I go on a lot of different lakes.
It would be cool to have a few guys mapping different lakes and get together and sharing our work.

8 Gig would be fine. If you have any questions in regards to Insight Genesis in the future send me a PM and will gladly help out. There are some great videos out there as well. Here is a good little tip for helping with uploading speeds, if you have any.

I'm with you there.

I have a free year of Insight I received as a bonus when I purchased an Elite 7.
Definitely something I plan to do, I spend a lot of time on the Winnipeg River between Slave and Seven Sisters. Better mapping would be a big bonus.

Would be nice to share the mapping info if its at all possible.

There are 2 ways to save files once Genesis maps it for you. 1 is private, which means only you ever get to see it. The 2nd is share, in this case you not only see your input but everyone else's on that body of water. You can also merge all your files on a lake as you continually record the same are developing more and more detail.

Thanks for the tip on upload speed. I recorded for a long time on saturday and ended up with only 1.5min of sonar log once uploaded on insight, noticed that the gps finally found my position after 1h30 min of boating around( do I need to set up something for quicker positioning?)
Will try again this weekend.
Roger, thank you for offering to help me.

Tips on getting the best mapping qualities.
Your GPS speed should be just fine if you are in an open boat.
Article also has some valuable links.Including setting up your GPS.

Genesis also gives you the option to show bottom composition and vegetation on your map overlays.

I am just getting into Insight Genesis and would appreciate some help. I figured out how to record logs, upload and download but I can't seem to find out how and where to go to buy a premium subscription. Anyone?
