I agree that Hecla campground and area is beauty. The 2 hour drive shouldn’t scare people away as most places that are worthy are the same distance give or take 15 minutes. Hiking/biking trails throughout the park are also excellent. Worth the drive in my opinion.

Thank you for the great advice @btrain, because I agree; allot of the best fishing and camping gems are a couple of hours away from the city.
I wonder if there is a place to park an RV up at heckla campground and surrounding area? Currently, I have a 36 foot Mountainaire by Newmar which I really enjoy. However, due to Covid, I wasn’t sure if I’d have problems getting it across the border with South Carolina plates. So sadly it’s still sitting down in South Carolina, but hopefully the borders will open up in the spring and I’ll be able to bring it back to enjoy some good fishing and camping here in Manitoba and across Canada.
